Research into Artist

I conducted research into Artists I felt represented life and death in their work. At first I struggled with this trying to find artists who work in this style but then remembered my work from Contextual Studies and college looking a the Dadaist John Heartfield. I feel a lot of his anti-nazi work really represents life and death with skeletons or death as an out come being used to shock his audiences and with his Anti War and Anti Nazi Propaganda.

Here Is what I feel is one of the best examples of Heartfields work showing life and death. Shows hitler looking in the mirror being strangled by a skeleton which is meant to represent death.

This is called Goering The Executioner here Heartfield is showing that following The Nazi's and Goering is just bringing death to Germany and its people, this also shows Georing as just a butcherer of people

Here this image above doesnt really represent death so much but I like the way that Heartfield uses X-rays of the ribs and lungs and montages it onto an image of Hitler

Here is an image of Hitler watering a Tree which grows bomb with the Nazi soldiers helmets. I view this as Hitler is feeding life that then created destruction and death.

This image is called Dont be frightened, He's a Vegetarian I shows Hitler as a Butcherer just like in the Goering montage.

The last image above shows the bones of a hand being created by German fighter planes as if to say they are the bringers or pilots of death.
